Yesterday was my last day at work and woo hoo I'm home free! I feel like I'm going on vacation but is easily reminded of my baggage up front and limited mobility. Even though, docs suggest she might be late, it's tough to decide what we can do and how far we should go.
Thanks Fil for suggestings things to add to the hospital bag. I've added a few more items especially the cameras I'd hate to leave behind. Yes Michelle, it's starting to get more real but I've eased off a bit as the docs continues to remind us, we're close but not that close :o) At our appointment yesterday, we finally remembered to ask how big they think she is in there (don't know how we keep forgetting). After a few pushes and rubs around the belly, the nurse found her head, her back and behind. Then, said she's around 6lbs now but should be 6.5 to 7lbs by the time she's born. Her heart beat was nice and strong around 155 beats for minute. As loud as the little gaget was at sounding off her heart beat, even Katie reacted to it with a few kicks which instantly raised her heart beat to 168. It was amazing to see... And yes, she loves sounds and music. She'll dance all the way home listening to hip hop in aunty Linda's car.
For today, I need to do chores, run arrands and hit the gym for some walk time in place of my normal walks around the capitol. Afterwards, I'm going to hit the Harry Potter book marathon again for the new movie hitting theatres this November. I've seen all the past movies on opening night and it's cute to watch it with kids who grow up with the actors. I can't wait to compare the movie to the book!

Long time no see doc…
Besides hearing that all is normal with our little one, the next best thing is I didn’t gain or loose a pound since our last visit, even though it was only a week ago…hehe… I know we both have to grow but she still has to wiggle out somehow and I rather it be a smaller, easier task ;o)
We also discussed some test results and we can be admitted to the hospital immediately when I start to feel labor pains. I like the idea of being admitted immediately so I don’t have to worry about the pain and count contractions at the same time except we’re not too thrilled about being in the hospital for days. My task this week is to pack the hospital stay bag and so far, I’ve got chapstick, lip shaped mints from Victoria Secret (thanks Sue), and a fairly marked up Sudoku book. Now, I’m feeling like putting our entire house in it to keep us entertained…haha… If not, it looks like we still have plenty of time to pack. The nurse checked my cervix or as she had put it “attempted to tickle the baby’s head” and failed which means baby is still a ways from her exit. We tried to get a more definite due date but the nurse would only hint possibly the end of August. Of course, there’s always the chance of a surprise!
I also have to start packing my work stuff. My last day is next Wednesday the 30th. I’ll be out for 5 months returning the week after new years. Not much stays constant around here so better to pack it all up as if I’m not coming back and start all over when I do. I’m looking forward to not hearing the alarm clock for a while or at least before the human version arrives…hehe… I’m not quite sure how to occupy my time once I’m off but I’m sure some of you can help me think of something.
Stay cool people! It has been getting hot but the mornings and evenings are cooling nicely. I don’t think any of us would mind an early Fall :o)

Checkup
Yesterday starts our weekly checkups to the doctor's office up until 'she' arrives. Oh yes, hopefully she senses how expensive gas is and kicks open the flood gates during a visit...hehe...
As for the appt., we went through the same routine: mingling about the changes, making sure I'm feeling her move on a regular basis (per videos no complaints there), measured my blood pressure, weight, and tummy which is all normal, and listening to her heartbeat. We also wanted to know whether her head is directed down. The ob doc pressed both hands against my tummy and maneuvered around shaping out her body. I didn't know you can press down that hard but obvious she knew what she was doing. For further confirmation, the doc had the nurse pull in an ultrasound machine for a quick peek (we love this gadget). And with a point of the sensor, yup she's sitting upside down just like the dude spinning to the right of this screen. Can't imagine that position being very comfy so don't blame her for poking and punching :o) The rest of the body looks healthy with plenty of fluids to swim in.
We'll see how much all this changes next week! We're getting close but no worries of her arriving early. After all, I'm still two weeks from being full term so stay tuned.

Friends
We had a nice weekend spending it with friends at a wedding shower for Abbey and James and visiting with Alisa and Ed, soon to be parents themselves!

Freaky huh?...haha...oh, she's getting better at it. Our friend, Alisa was able to feel her move at lunch time. Quite honorably, Aunty Alisa has been the only one other than daddy to feel her move thus far. I'm sure the rest of you will get your chances at one point or another :o)

Yesterday we received a package from my Dad's cousins, Rain and Juan in Shenzhen, China. Thank you for reading our blog and hope you feel apart of our baby experience. There's obviously plenty to come :o) We'll get Katelinh in those pretty dresses soon. She will be sure to enjoy them this summer and the summers to come.
Aunty Rain and Juan were amazing hosts the minute we landed in China during our visit early last year. They were our tour guides/GPS, guardians, negotiators, travel agents, cooks, and even helped with our laundry. There's no doubt we can't wait to visit again once Katelinh is mobile and independent.
Hope all is well in China. Send our regards to the rest of the family in Shenzhen and Beihai. We’ll let you know when Katelinh arrives!

Hello Cousin Tyrus!
Wow, what a weekend?! Didn’t feel like we did much but we are exhausted. We attended a BBQ on Friday afternoon hosted by my dad who was determined to have a feast at the grill and did! Fortunately, we couldn’t stick around to indulge too much.
Later that afternoon, we picked up Yogi’s mom and headed out to SF in anticipation that Yogi’s nephew, Tyrus will celebrate the holiday with us. Instead, the little dude decided to embrace us with is cute 7 pounds 8 oz self on Saturday, 7/5/08 at 7:26pm. As a result, we spent the rest of Friday night watching movies and flashes of illegal fireworks swallowed by the infamous fog over Daly City from my sister-in-law’s cozy living room.
As for Tyrus, he looks like mommy fresh out of the womb with full red lips but resembles daddy’s long fingers, toes and possibly round facial structure. He was awake and alert the whole time we visited.

He even gave Uncle Yogi a hard time during a swaddle session as he wiggled his soft little hands up, out and about.

The anticipation continues for more newborns to the Le family. Katelinh should be next but it’s a close race between her and her nephew in London. Yes, Katelinh is already an Aunty! Yogi’s niece (Katelinh’s cousin) is due to give birth the week after me and is having a healthy English boy.
As of now, no major changes to look forward to apart from the end to work. We completed our Child Birth education classes last week with a tour of the hospital and a newborn care session. We’ve learned tons except there’s nothing like hands on experience so we’re keeping an open mind and are ready for anything (hoping K don’t challenge us on ‘anything’).
Stay cool everyone!! It’s going to be a scorching week with very, very, very bad air quality in Sactown :o(
