A Me Update

So, an update on how I’m feeling thus far this week...

Energy wise, a little better than last week. I was able to stay up till 9-9:30 the past couple nights and even got into the mood of putting on lipstick in the mornings...haha… I’m shooting to hit the gym tonight for some light exercise and to make sure my butt is still mine! I was hesitant to go the first few weeks in fear of over-doing-it or tripping over a dumb bell. But not to worry, I’m going ignore that whole section of the gym all together :o)

The inevitable morning sickness is still lingering throughout the day. Monday night we ate at (Yogi) Mom’s and when we got home, the baby took me all the way to the toilet….to spit. I told it to be good to grandma and it stopped, nothing else came out. Oddest thing! If I haven’t mentioned it already, yes, I’ve been talking to the baby when no one is around. It works!...haha… To help with the nausea at work, I have stashes of snacks from muffins to carrot sticks and dried plums from Vinh Phat. Yogi needs to stop eating them too and leave more for the really pregnant one.

Cravings? Not much yet but we went to Borders last night which is right next door to a L&L Hawaiian BBQ and it smelled soooooo good. I’m hitting it Friday night! Let me know if you want to join me (corner of Laguna and Bruceville Rd in Elk Grove).

P.S. We're having a little Superbowl party Sunday. You're welcome to join us. Send us an email to RSVP. So far, a few of Yogi's friends will be there with our underdog cheerleader Tiffany. Yogi's going to make his mango salsa and maybe homemade pizzas.

If you know my hubby, you know that he's not the most serious person in the world. He's goofy, fun loving, likes to talk dirty (stuff you'd find or do in the bathroom), and enjoys making others laugh with him or at him. Yes, like a 7 year old.

But at home, he's a different monster. He takes care of our finances, cleans the house/cars inside and out (with help of course), makes sure we go to the gym every other night, does Yoga on Sunday mornings and drinks soy milk :o) What do I do? Somebody has to supervise...haha...

Seriously, I uses to do the other half of the chores like cook, clean the kitchen and toilets, do laundry etc. but now that I'm a little sensitive to chemicals and falls asleep before dinner is ready, Yogi pretty much does everything.

For weeks now, he searches for recipes online and with a laptop and what’s left in the fridge, he goes on a tear in the kitchen almost every night. Of course, I help clean when I'm not asleep by then. And, in the mornings, he makes and packs my breakfast/lunch, then puts it next to my purse so I don't forget. I'm sure he's only doing it because he doesn't trust what I find to eat while at work but I'm not complaining and neither is the baby!!

Thanks to my biggest Babe for taking care of our family :oD

P.S. If you're wondering, if I can loan him out, well he's going to be busy for a loooooooong while.

8 Mommies in 08

Congratulations to our Mommy and Daddy friends...and family in 2008!!

Jessica (friend from elementary school) gave birth to her daughter, Taylor (above) on January 17, 2008. The precious little thing is as cute as can be at 8 pounds and 2 ounces.

Our friends, Heidi and Karl are VERY anxiously awaiting the arrival of their son, Titus. The little man is due to arrive Tuesday, January 29th. Heidi, you'll do fine. We can't wait to see you and the boys (Titus and Daddy)!

The above 3 mommies are all due in May. If I had everything my way, I would be part of the picture too...haha... From left to right, Fiona is expecting her 3rd child, Rachel from Chinese school is expecting her second son and ex-coworker and now close friend, Joy is having her second child first son. You experienced mommies will be hearing from often!

Closer to home Yogi's older brother Derek and his wife, Fil (our sister-in-law) are expecting another Le Babe :o) Their first little guy will be making his/her own independent appearance on or near July 4th. We're very excited that the cousins are only about a month and half apart and will have a heck of a time growing up together. In the meantime, the two mommies and daddies are having a time of their lives sharing the mini milestones and can't wait for more! Just to give you an idea of how big this Le family is already, Yogi is the youngest at #9, Derek #8, 18 grandkids soon to be 20 and 2 great granddaughters in London.

On my side of the family, my cousin May in Canada is having her second munchkin towards the end of July. Above is a younger picture of her daughter, Ella. My family is normal compared to Yogi's. I'm the eldest of 6 and this will be the first grandchild in my family.

And finally, you can guess the last on this list due in August!

Thank you...Thank you...Thank you...

Not only are we excited about our baby, we are also very lucky to have such great family and friends to share it with! I suppose you've all waited long enough for us to bust one out...haha...well, we love you guys too!

As if we needed another August birthday (crazy party animals like Daddy, Uncle Derek, Auntie Kim, Uncle Arnold, Auntie Tiff, Uncle Tom, Uncle Karl, Auntie Joy and others) this one will prance his/her way onto the dance floor on AUGUST 20, 2008!!

Also, we'll play hide-n-seek with the baby on March 31 to determine if it's a little Linh or little Yogi. Nice of the state to give us the day off to do it. Put your bet in to the right :oD

First Sights...and Sounds

Yogi and I just got back from our first little baby appointment where we got to see the baby for the first time! I know a few of you have been as anxious as we have..hehe...well, at 10 weeks and counting....
First of all, the baby and I are both very healthy. He/she is about an inch and a half long and was as happy to see us as were to see him/her. It was actively moving those tiny hands and feet during our session which was very entertaining to see but now that I think about it, should I be worried?

Can't believe this tiny person is actually in me!! It was an amazing feeling to see it and then to see it move!! We even HEARD its heart beat!! Can you tell I'm excited...haha...trust me daddy is no less :o)
Stay tune Aunties and Uncles...plenty to come in the coming weeks :o)

Calling it what it is

Ok, here we go...

I suppose the meaning of morning sickness for most mothers to-be aren't always in the mornings. Some have it throughout the day and others have no symptoms at all (disgustingly lucky). For me, the feelings of nauseousness started a week ago and it comes and goes throughout the day. I've been pretty good at keeping it all in with the exception of a salad I ate a the Rivercity Brewery one night. I'm guessing baby doesn't like salads? Not from the Rivercity Brewery anyways.

Other than the morning sickness, I've just been exhausted. I've been having to wake up every 2hrs throughout the night for the bathroom and the 'no sleepingin on weekends' has already started :o( Tummy wakes me up by 8am for breakfast; otherwise, I would pay with nausea and a bad appetite. I try to makeup the sleep by sleeping as early at 8pm which means, I've been missing the second game of the NBA doubleheaders on TNT!

I'm telling but not complaining cus this precious little thing is all worth it! We'll meet it on Thursday at our first ultrasound. Mommy and daddy can't wait!

A New Beginning

I've been lazy staying in the blogging world - too much happening too fast! But with this new event in our lives, it's worth starting again and keeping it going for 15-20 years from now, this may all pay off in good family entertainment.

Lets start with what got each other for Christmas. How about a pregnancy test?!!

The Thursday before xmas, I missed my girlie time of the month so I took a home test the following Saturday night revealing TWO light lines. Yogi was distinctively confused so my thought was, don’t panic, we’ll let the professionals take care of this. I went to Kaiser the next morning to give them what they needed and on Christmas Eve, the result is 99.9999999999999999….% POSITIVE (well maybe not that many 9's).

Ironically, Yogi and I got each other absolutely nothing for Christmas. Lets just say we did our Christmas shopping early :o) But, we're certainly not complaining about this little surprise gift...not yet anyways.

The first couple of people we told were Yogi's brother, Derek and his wife, Fil who are also expecting their first little one this summer. They were staying with us over the Christmas weekend so instead of telling them at home, we decided to tell them on the road. On our way to sister's house for dinner, we drove separate cars and we wanted to see how well Derek can keep a secret. So, Yogi made THE phone call to his brother. The Uncle to-be was more than ecstatic to expect a cousin for his little one. He contagiously past his giggles to us and we laughed the majority of the way to sister’s house. It was truly a joyful moment. Derek did ok at dinner :o)

Our first appointment for the baby was this past Tuesday which turned out to be a consultation more than anything, completing paperwork and ordering lab tests. Our next visit on Thursday should be more exciting with ultrasound and a complete physical.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes, support and many great advises already. I think I'll post them all here to share with other mommies to-be :o)
