1 Week Old

She's loving her new home.

Yay, we made it through the week!!..hehe...and have to say, it wasn't too bad. Katie turns 1 week old and life can only get better. I’m recovering nicely with little or no pains thus a first trip back to gym shouldn’t be too far away. Katie was really fussy the first night home since I didn’t have much of a milk supply. She practically announced her arrival to the neighborhood with what perfect lungs she had. From then, she’s been able to eat well and sleep well sometimes through her feeding times. We’re not too thrilled about waking up every two hours at night but we’re getting to uses to it. It’s less dreadful knowing what to expect.

Yogi went back to work today which means, I had to cruise alone on the night shift. Last night, she stayed up a little longer than expected after one of her feedings so less sleep for me but also proves no one night has been exactly the same. So, we can only take things one day at a time and hope to get through these precious first few months with good memories and enjoy her tiny presence before she grows up too fast.

She's here!!

Good morning!! After sooo many months and sooo many days of waiting, the crying and screaming is officially here! Her name is Katelinh Wing Le born on Tuesday, 8/19/08 at 3:25pm. She weights 6lbs 12ozs and is 19 inches long.
Mommy and daddy had a great experience in the labor room (24hrs worth) and came through in a painlessly fast pushing fashion. Daddy was awesome throughout labor and delivery thus I've rewarded him by not breaking any of his bones during contractions. He's also hanging tough being as helpful as he can. Mommy is a bit sore over all but recovering and Katie is getting uses to her new home.

We know many of you are anxious to meet her in person and see how we're doing but please be patient as we try to settle in and recover, me physically and both Yogi and Katie psychologically...hehe.. :o) Please send us an email or call first to make arrangements to visit, if you'd like. Of course, we'd like for all of you to meet Katie but we have a small home and wouldn't want to spoil the princess with too much attention.

Thanks all for your support!!

PS more pixs to come once I get another free second or two :o)

Finally Due!

The day has finally come after 40 weeks but has the time finally arrived for Katelinh to make her debut? The sun has only begun to rise in California so she has a whole day to make her move. If so, she’ll share her birthday with Uncle Arnold (my younger brother). Happy birthday dude! We'll try to make it to dinner tonight :o)

We got to practice our baby talk skills with nephew, Tyrus yesterday morning who’s staying with us for a few days with mommy and daddy. The little man is growing fast showing off his chubby muscles to Uncle Yogi below...

Bye for now...

NO Baby Yet

...haha...gosh do I really have to do a post every day from now on?! I'm already online first thing when I wake up and I'm actually early this morning. Yogi's little nephew woke me up visiting from SF and the little 6-week-old is as cute as can be.

Nope, no baby yet. We went to our last appointment on Wednesday and were seen by a midwife who's expecting us in labor and delivery this weekend. She doesn't think I'll make it to the next appointment on Tuesday. But if Katie stays in beyond 41 weeks, 8/24/08 she'll get induced; hopefully we won't have to.

Otherwise, I'm doing fine just swollen in my hands and feet from the heat and water retention. I have felt some pain in the lower abdomens the past few days but all short lived and not very intense; all good signs that she's getting ready but no popping yet. We’ll be in touch…

Happy birthday to my hubby and daddy to-be today!! We love you :o)

Happy Monday!!

Yay, the summer Olympics is finally here and I have entertainment while on leave! The games have been exciting to watch thus far with the Redeem Team (men’s basketball) proving their ownership over the sport and Phelps living up to his golden opportunities. How amazing to see the world’s best athletes compete and learn about their ‘hollywood’ stories and dramas outside of the gym.

Two women swimmers last night going for gold dated/dating the same Italian Olympic swimmer. The first girlfriend is a French swimmer who at one time left France to swim for Italy with her boyfriend. But Italy did not accept her; she broke up with the dude and went back to France. The dude is now dating a swimmer from his own country in Italy. And taboids printed nude pixs of the first girlfriend reportedly to disrupt the training of the ex-gf; how scandalous is that? The current girlfriend was the favorite to win gold last night and was only lanes apart from the ex-gf; neither she nor the ex-gf were even close. Instead, two Britains and an American won medals…haha…

Another story involved a Chinese diver who’s very pretty. She was 17 years old when she won her first Olympic medal in Athens. After which she got into the glamour of modeling, partying, dating billionaires, etc. and soon she complained of her coaches stringent ways and neglected her training for Beijing. She soon got her act together and seems to be doing well at the current games. I suppose even these robot-like athletes are human at one point or another.

As far as our little Olympiet is concerned, she attempted her first moves on Friday night while we were at a wedding reception. I think the music and food got her going. She gave me a few contractions for a good 2 hours then eased off and have been staying put ever since. Thus, things have not changed much around the house except Daddy is now working from home to keep an eye on us. It's also nice to have dinner covered for this week thanks to my parents tonight, our friends tomorrow and Wednesday nights, Yogi’s mom on Thursday night and hopefully a nice romantic dinner on Friday night for Yogi’s bday and not hospital food!

Enjoy photos from our friends Abbey and James' wedding on 08.08.08!

Have a great week everyone! We’ll be in touch.

This is the month!

After being on maternity leave for almost a week now, the days are starting to go by a little faster. I've tried to get a routine down but since I really don’t have to be anywhere or do anything at a certain time, things get shifted and before I know it the day is over. For example, the first couple of mornings, I was able to hit the gym for an hour – 30 minutes walking on the treadmill and 30 minutes on a few weight machines to keep the muscles tone. Over the weekend with Yogi at home, being able to sleep later at night and sleep-in in the mornings, the whole gym routine mysteriously disappeared…haha… Even so, I have had no less exercises - running arrands and nightly walks around the neighborhood with hubby. The gym time is for the extra scoop of ice cream and dessert treats that seems to haunt me more than ever these days :o\

Other than going to the gym, I'm usually watching TV, chatting on the computer, preping a meal or running minor arrands in and around the house. Our friends and family know exactly how to keep us connected; once I stop responding to emails or messages, it could be 'time'...haha...

Physically, I’m doing ok. The discomforts are more noticeable at night as it gets harder to shift around for a comfy position. When sleeping on the side, it feels like a ton of bricks weighing down stretching the other side somewhat painfully or any attempt to sleep on my back has her lying on top of my organs cutting off my oxygen and heart rate. It might sound bad but once I fall asleep, it’s all good.

See the rotating baby to the right of the screen…her position in my tummy is pretty much identically with her head down and facing my back. She’s really good at swinging those elbows and tapping those toes. We haven't gotten uses to feeling them one bit. Yogi has even tried to tickle the bumps whenever she pokes out. Don't know if she reacts to the tickling or is just moving naturally. It’s simply amazing how much she’s grown. We know she’s getting ready to meet us but who knows when. The little lady already has us all wrapped up in her schedule.
