Heat and Teethes Don't Mix

Gosh, what a scorching weekend. Our first heat wave of the year and it was not shy to go beyond triple digits. I was afraid to even look at the forecast last night but did it anyways to see how short I should dress to work :o) It’ll still be hot enough in the 90’s today but will cool off to the 80’s the rest of the week. Halleluiah!

Katie is trying her best to keep smiling...at least for the camera. Yogi recently taught her how to smile for the camera and she has mastered it quite well!

Yes this weekend was hot and it’s a menace for Katie. She’s a true member of the Le clan being able to sweat bullets. Her entire head and back gets wet when she takes naps thus we’ve had to crank up the A/C in the car and at home to retain her bodily fluids! It helps when she’s able and willing to drink her water throughout the day going on two cups/day. Nonetheless, she hates the heat! She gets sticky, her head gets itchy, and it’s just simply tough for her to find a comfortable position especially for naps. We definitely need to get her a ceiling fan in her room to help ease the A/C…bill :o/

Katie can’t deal with heat and she can’t deal with pain either! Over the weekend, she started to show signs of teething…again. She’s been very impatient, cries out of nowhere, is clingier than normal, drools uncontrolably and loves to chew on any object including toys she hasn’t touched in months! We threw one of her freezable teethers in the fridge yesterday and gave it to her once it was frozen. She seemed to enjoy it quite a bit as cold as it was :o) The good news is, her sore gums haven’t affected her sleeping much. I shall not speak/write too soon!!

Cooling off with Mommy at Starbucks.

Hanging out with cousins Claudia and Angel

Have a great week everyone!! Katie is turning 9 months tomorrow and our 4 year wedding anniversary is on Friday. Hubby has something up his sleeves but being rather secretive about it so we’ll see what he's up to.

re: the AC bill...I know it! With a 2 level house, the upstairs bedrooms are always 5-10 degrees warmer than the downstairs, which is where the thermostat it. This means we have to crank the AC all the way down to 70-ish just to get Daisy's room to an acceptable temperature - and that's WITH a ceiling fan! Meanwhile, I've got blankets on me in the living room. NOT looking forward to this month's electricity bill AT ALL. Good luck with that one yourself.
