Memorial Weekend 09

What an awesome stress free weekend for us. I took Friday off to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. Can’t believe we have come this far already. We couldn’t help but think how much faster the next few years are going to go watching Katie grow with all her little friends. By now, I have lost track of how old our friends’ babies are. I kept thing they’re older than they really are.

Yogi was sweet enough to take Thursday off to plan and prep for our outings on Friday. He started off the morning with a sweet surprise of a dozen chocolate covered strawberries arranged in a bouquet from Eatable Arrangements :o) They were yummy and there’s a few left in the freezer.

Afterwards, we had brunch at Ettores with Katie being the main attraction of all the little old ladies. I had their croissant French toast which was yummy, yummy! Since we were there, we picked up a small white chocolate mousse cake Yogi ordered. Yummy, yummy, yummy! Following brunch was supposed to be a snack/picnic hangout by the American River or Folsom Lake but Katie snuck in a long nap while we stopped by home to drop off the cake in the fridge. So we skipped the outdoor plan and on with the next, bowling. A few weeks ago, we received a coupon for 10 games at 99 cents each. Great deal and great time for us to finally use it! On our very first game I bowled at 178 and hubby barely broke three digits…hehe… The rest of our 5 game scores went up and down which means we need to come back more often. Katie was an angel relaxing in her car seat for a good three games cheering mommy and daddy on like a pro with high fives all around.

We finished the day with Katie at my parents, while we had a rare (as of late) candle light dinner at Sophia’s. I had a less than perfect rack of lamb and Yogi had a yummy grilled salmon. Afterwards, we grabbed a cup of coffee and walked by the Friday night concert at Caesar Chavez Park. The stroll made me feel like I walked back in time to Woodstock…people drinking, smoking, and tattoos all over…haha… No matter, I had a perfect day well spent with hubby and Katie.

The rest of the weekend, we were treated with perfect Spring weather in the mid-80’s. We attended a little man’s 2nd birthday at Chucky Cheeses on Saturday, relaxed and hung out at Borders on Sunday, then a bbq on Monday while mingling with friends. Katie has not stopped moving and loved every minute being out of the house.

She’s a little energizer bunny moving faster by the step. She’s able to hold on to things and walk around the house and at times will let go, bend her knees and come down to the floor to crawl to where she wants to go. For the most part, she’s sleeping through the night from about 7-8pm to 5-6am. Of course, she’ll toss and turn and have her moments where she’ll try to break her snoozes. And we’ll come to the rescue by simply sleeping beside her calms till dawn. She’s been like that for a couple weeks now so keeping our fingers and toes crossed for it to continue. Is it too much to ask for her sleep 30 minutes longer…5am on Saturday morning is not very exciting.

It’s only a three day work week for me then we’re off to SF Friday night to have dinner with an old friend and spend the rest of the weekend helping Yogi’s brother move back to Sactown. Yay, Katie will get to hangout with her cousin Ty Ty more often!! Plenty of photos and playdates to come :o)
