Tahoe Wedding

I’m sure Katie won’t mind sharing the blog in honor of the newlywed couple. CONGRATULATIONS MR. AND MRS. C!!

Time sure flies when you’re having fun especially on the weekends. Yogi and I had Friday off to run a few errands like get a tune-up for the Rav and new tires for the Accord. Once the business was out of the way, we packed up and headed up the mountain to beautiful South Lake Tahoe.

Saturday afternoon we witnessed the marriage of a special couple who we’ve known for about eight years at least and a lot longer between the bride and me. The ceremony was held at Lakefront Wedding Chapel where Yogi and I wed nearly four years ago. It was very special to be back at the chapel, this time to enjoy as a guest with our daughter.

Afterwards, the reception was at the Chart House, a steak and seafood restaurant on the mountain half way between the casinos and Heavenly. The salmon and prime rib were absolutely mouthwatering delicious. The service was exceptional and everyone had a memorable time!

The bride and groom were very thoughtful in their wedding plans. They wanted their friends and family to be there for them in comfy fashion. Thus, they complimented all of us with a one night stay after the wedding at Lakeland Village Resort in these stunning townhomes overlooking the lake. Our townhouse was just steps away from the resort’s private boat dock. Although, the air was too cold for any water activity, the view of the fresh snow on the mountains, blue skies and clear waters were relaxing to just sit and stare at.

We’ve found an event like this is not so easy for a baby. There was just a little too much activity for Katie to not get overly excited. She was turning in all directions and was simply relentless to get in on the action, other kids playing, people chatting, adults drinking and eating, no matter she wanted a piece of it. And in the middle of it all, she had to eat, poop and nap. We fed and put her to napped before the ceremony, she pooped and napped after the ceremony and by the end of the reception, she was completely knocked out!! It wasn’t so easy to cater to the little princess’ needs and enjoy the wedding at the same time but we did it and wouldn’t have wanted to do it any other way :o)

Our next wedding is in two weeks and I’m afraid Yogi may be on his own for this one. I’m part of the wedding party so will be serving the bride that day, even though the day lands on my first Mother’s Day! It’ll be fun no less!!
